Platinum Certified – 100% original. This bass we ESTIMATE is a 1967 as we all know, unless you have a bill of sale, its nearly impossible to accurately date one of these things. Being this is an Italian Vox and does not have a backpad from the factory, this is typical of a 1967. The bass also has other interesting features in that it has a black painted neck and head stock.
The bass has a really good neck with good frets and a good rod. The finish is not heavily checked and is in good honest shape. The binding is really good (more on that) and the pickups are extremely strong. The bass sets up really well! Naturally, the guard is warped and has shrinkage (Let’s face it, all of us over 50 has shrinkage). The only thing we had to do (see the pic), there was a small split in the binding (Im talking small), it was cleaned and filled. When it unglued a million years ago, it caused a small lacquer chip that we filled and finished. Its about the size of a pinky nail. 99% of these have this but we point everything out. This is a bass I’ll be gigging with in the meantime. Can you actually believe I have some legal outdoor, socially distanced gigs?!?!?!
