1976 Gibson Thunderbird Bicentennial

 Product Description

Heres the first answer – Never had a headstock issue.  Now that’s out of the way… I love this bass!  Its been around and shows all over wear and patina. Appears to have had 3 small screw holes professionally filled on the bottom ledge near the raised edge by the controls. You can barely see em.  The neck is played smooth but has wear.  At the top of the neck, there IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT a break but being it is a 9 ply neck, it had mild separation that was expertly repaired by mwah.. The area, and the entire bass black lights perfectly.  It’s a non issue BUT I describe everything.  If you read my magazine column back in the day on Tbirds, you know I love 76 basses but I was never a fan of the pickups.  Well the prior owner, he installed a set of aged to match the bass Thunderbucker pick ups and I will tell you THIS BASS F’IN KILLS!  She has strap locks and an extra button on the heel.  One of the knobs lost a foil.  WHO CARES PLAY THE DAMN BASS!! The harness is orig as are all the parts sans for 1 screw on the tuners.  She even has a really nice HSC (non-orig) and no, we don’t have the original sidewinders.  Want a great Tbird, here she is!
