This bass is from 1997 and is stupid light at 7.2 lbs - Yes, 7.2 lbs. The bass floats and is perfectly balanced. I just used this at a 4 hr rehearsal (HURRAY I can go to band practice again!!), this bass was a joy to play. The tone is very 'gentlemanly' its gracious and subtle. Its not in your face like a Musicman or a Spector. Just a lovely articulate bass. I just want to point out the finish on the face of the horn is fine, its just funny glare..
The condition is very nice but this bass has been gigged. She shows player wear and patina but shows all over checking that is stable and not going anywhere. I've seen this checking when constantly going from a hot car to an A/C'ed club. Like it said, its stable and still pretty - we just over describe everything.
The pickups are the proprietary split-coil humcancellers common to the late 90s F basses. The preamp is the standardl F bass 6 knob with volume/blend/active/passive push/pull and passive tone control, then the high, mid, and bass EQ control knobs. We are fairly certain it has the original tolex hardcase.
The body is most likely likely alder according to the folks at F-Bass, maple board, w/a 1-5/8ths nut
