We have a great looking, great playing 1979 B01 Stingray that has all the parts but a body only ancient refin.
All the parts are correct for a B01 Stingray including the pots and the non-exopy preamp. The bass sounds awesome. The fretboard has finish wear to challenge your 55 Telecaster but the board is in really good shape. The frets in the 1st position have wear but in our opinion are good for 2 more dressings. We decided to leave it as the bass now that is is properly set up plays really good.
The refin - There were a few mistakes made during the refin long ago that we corrected for the most part. The finish was orange peely. We performed a cut and buff. You car guys know what that is and cleaned up 85% of the orange peel. The neck pocket while masked, there is slight over spray - Our detection is what seperates the pros from the wannabees. Most good dealers would catch this but any would not. Thats how good this refin is. Done long ago...
Only thing to point out - After the refin, a prior owner installed a plate to prevent belt buckling. We filled 4 small (smaller than a pickguard screw) holes in the back. We have a photo.
