Who doesn’t love a 4005? The problem is they are priced out of reach of 99% of us and lets face it, they look cool, but get lost in the mix. Save the hate mail, I own(ed) multiple of these. This bass is a really nice emulation, right down to the long heel. The green finish is stunningly cool and DOPE clean. Has what we believe is the OHSC, 8.0 lbs. The body has a center block so even thru my SVT, it was controlled. Here’s where the Waterstone fell down – The setups were deplorable and the fret work sucks. Laser straight necks and high-ish action, these sat and the MFG dumped them. Here’s where Kebo’s comes in – When you have the best luthiers on the planet in-house and on speed dial, magic happens – and no, there were no changed parts or structural changes. Just good bench skills to level the frets, cut the nut, finish the saddles and now, this bass plays fantastic. The tonal signature is ballsy kindasorta Ricky but it cuts in the mix. Its also 1/10th the price of a 4005 and you can actually use it.
