How do you describe this great bass - Its like a beautiful aged supermodel with bad teeth....
Lets get the easy stuff out of the way - The bass has a PERFECT neck, nothing broken or reset. Every part is present including the ridiculous original gigbag that is in great shape but one side of the handle is off. Everything functions as expected including the finicky On/Off/On toggle and even the mute assembly works. Super fat giant sized big neck that is not for the Sound Gear crowd. The strings may even be 60s vintage and are properly dead and thumpy. This bass plays sounds and looks just awesome. She comes with a second bridge assembly. I never saw one of these. Its a heavy duty, proper ebony base with a Rickenbacker saddle assembly expertly perched so this bass can have perfect intonation. Granted, she does have an extra strap button and hole on the butt.
Ok the binding - like bad teeth, you can't fix genetics. The bass has the bad binding in spots BUT we have the remaining binding stabilized. Theres not really any scratches or dents or chips but like all Gretsch's of the era, there are a few cloudy spots. This is what original is all about and your only original once. This is a GREAT bass.
