1965 Circa Ampeg / Kay Oh sooooo funky bass!!!! 1960s, 1970s - Mother of Toilet Seat

Funky funky but chic! Oh this bass is awesome - No animals were used in the testing of this instrument. All OHSA protocols followed and all NIST standards were adhered to (um, I think).. No, we didnt build this but we had to have it.

* The body I am fairly certain is a 70s Ampeg Big Stud body. The shape and the sandwich wood body makes me believe this

* The pick up, ahhhh yes the pickup is a Kay Speed Demon, speed bump unit

* The neck is a quality neck on par with Warmoth (if it isnt a Warmoth)

* Nice tuners and a Japan bridge

* Has a gigbag

The finish is genuine MOTS, thats Mother of Toilet Seat to you new comers. It looks so beyond cool. The bass plays nice, 7.4 lbs. For you guys who are expecting a 700.00 Fodera, keep moving, this isnt it. For someone who remembers the Viper Room, Max's KC, Spit - this is your bass. Intonation is good but not perfect below fret 14 - Why - the neck is a 34 but needs to be moved higher in the pocket by a 1/4 of an inch. MOTS finish is awesome, tone is way cool and very interesting.
