Never broken, Never messed with, she is all original, Original soft Gibson case.
Yes she is wearing a drop in replacement Hipshot bridge BUT the original bridge and mute assembly AND all the orig screws are included. Its 5 minutes and 5 screws to put back to stock. The are no extra holes and no mods at all. If you convert back to stock, she will be 100% orig.
So why the Hipshot - 2 reasons - The stupid bar bridge never did and never will intonate properly and with the deep tones coming out of this, there will be wolf tones at high volume. The second reasons, you can double check this as fact with your Gibson Guru.. In late '65, Gibson went to a higher degree neck set angle and the action raised. They did this on the Epiphone and Gibson basses and it affected the action. This occurred on the solidbody basses. Ever pick up an Embassy or Tbird from late 65? Years ago you had to counter sink a BA1 until Hipshot created this bridge. The bass now intonates and has nice but not stupid low action (its now typical EB0) as expected. The bridge also provides tonal clarity and eliminated some sonic-blurriness.
Nice neck, great frets, perfect truss rod. Never broken, clean head stock, original neck set. This is a highly pedigreed bass. Has a functional original soft case.
She looks to have worn flats for most of her life as the frets are original and in nice shape. EVERYTHING works. She plays great and sounds awesome. Shows careful player wear and 50+ years of patina. Strap button at 1 time was on the body by the heel. If you want a good one, here it is. I'll tell ya, shes a tone monster.
