Let's call this awesome bass a circa 1970. We're dating this by the features.
Lots of good news on this bass - Good neck, relief, super nice even, lower action, good truss rod, quality gig bag.
She plays with ease and has nice pickups. One of the pickups is late 60s, the other is about 1969 (see pic). When they transitioned, there was an overlap of parts. The pickguard is not original but it was hand cut back in the day from a nice piece of plastic. Sounds and plays really nice with that 'authentic' tonal signature.
We just had the toggle professionally replaced. In order to do so, a small window was professionally placed in the back. It looks stock. Ever wonder why many of these have toggles that don't work? For a short period, the electronics were assembled then the back was glued on. The toggle was too big to snake thru to the f-hole. Thank you to a fellow Reverber for that info. Just gone thru by my luthier extraordinaire, Roger Steinberg.
