We have a nice looking, terrific playing, tone monster of a Pbass. 326xxx serial, 72 neck date, 72 pickup dates and a 1971 pot set has this squarely as a 1972. She's had a super pro refret recently (not by us but it is awesome quality). We got it with a repro guard but we reached into our secret stash and installed a 1969/1970 guard that is really nice that we clipped from a refin years ago. The knobs are newer. When we received the bass it had dice for knobs. The handle on the case is a home brew replacement BUT its functional and comfortable and the case is original and fully functional. The only work we did was some of the wiring was a little 'fritzy' so we heated some of the solder joints and replaced a couple of pieces of wire for reliability.
The finish is original, other than the knobs and some wiring, the bass is original (see note on the guard). The action is low, the neck is straight, the rod is good. The nut is 1.65 inches so its not a boat neck 'C' profile. Cosmetically it has wear, patina but no abuse. As we say, great basses get played. We like this one, you will too. GET THIS - 8.3 lbs!!
