1973 - Rickenbacker 4001 1973 - Fireglo

$4,695.00

 Product Description

We have a terrific early 70s 4001.  The first questions we are asked are how is the neck and how are the rods.  The answer is the rods are just fine, the neck has even relief.  Plays with nice action...

The pickups are strong and the harness is dated to 1973.  Box back Grovers and plexi truss rod cover are the only carry over features.  MI serial number.  New Ric hard case.

The bass was played but not beat up.  Strong color, has chippiness in areas along with some checking, general player wear and patina.  She's a 50 year old gigged bass.  As with many of these, she had board lift at the nut that was professionally reglued a million years ago, its stable and didnt travel. Its only about 2 to 2.5 inches and no biggie,   We just point everything out.  If you're looking for a killer bass with pedigree and CGF (Cool Guy Factor) this is the one.  9.3 lbs The only thing to notice is there's a dent (not a break) on the heel do doubt from being in a gig bag when we received it. It's not on the playing surface - please see the pic. Pickup output is strong, focused and balanced. Rods are EASILY adjustable.
